Ney oldu bu kalp, vuslat için ötmedeyiz,
‘Lafzâi Celâl’den şevk alıp gitmedeyiz
Mevlâm bizi Mevlânâ’ya yâr etti şükür;
Döndükçe semâzenler, alev içre ney’iz!..

Biz her gece raksın kundağından geliriz,
Biz her gece bin Ferhat dağından geliriz;
Dönsün semazenler aşk deyip gönlümüze,
Biz her gece Şems’in gül bağından geliriz!..

Mevlânâ Quatrain

Our hearts have become a reed that vibrates for the Beloved
We eagerly go forth from divine inspiration
Praise to God that has made us beloved by Mevlana
We are the flute that plays inside the turning dervish circle

Each night we turn up dressed in the robes of the dance
Each night we descend from a thousand mountains of love
May the dervishes whirl and recite love to our hearts
Each night we come forth from the rose garden of Shems!..
